Back in the field

2026 was our first season, and it had a challenging start.

Tony dug about 1,000 holes by hand while Tegan planted most of the trees. Then Tony hurt his back, and we had to rent an auger to get the rest in the ground. After that, he was laid up for the whole summer.

While he recovered, the weeds kept growing. All we could do was hope the trees would make it.

In October, we finally worked our way back through the greenery to see what had survived. The trees weren’t just growing. The vast majority were thriving.

We plan to plant more each year.
